We currently have several youth programs that we offer to schools and agencies for children of all ages. Programming is delivered by professional, experienced and caring facilitators who provide participants with the opportunities, skills and relationships they need to be successful.
(Building Leaders Through Arts Sports and Technology)
The BLAST program is an experiential youth development program that uses the power of arts, sports, and technology to provide students with the opportunities, skills, and technology they need in order to be strong leaders in their schools and communities. BLAST is designed to help young people feel empowered, gain self-awareness and take action in their communities.
GPS
(Graduate, Prepare, and Succeed)
GPS is a multifaceted, comprehensive attendance improvement program designed to provide the support that 9th and 10th grade students need to thrive in school. Services include counseling, academic advisement, mentoring, and credit bearing courses. A team of passionate and dedicated professionals led by an MSW, work together to empower students and influence the choices they make in order to help them succeed and graduate from high school
MY LIFE
(Meeting Youth to Laugh, Inspire, Feel, Empower!)
An adolescent rap group focusing on relevant topics important to teenagers today with an emphasis on self-development.
ESCAPE IT
A conflict resolution and anger management program for children and youth of all ages that teaches and builds upon the following eight themes:
• Exploration of Anger
• Strengthening Communication
• Considering Others
• Alternatives to Violence
• Problem Solving
• External Influences
• Impulse Control
•Taking Responsibility
ASK
(Adolescence, Sexuality and Knowledge)
A program that offers 5th to 12th graders a variety of ways to learn about human sexuality with the goal of reducing risky behaviors. The following areas are addressed:
• Growth and Development
• Human Sexuality
• Pregnancy Prevention
• Sexually Transmitted Illnesses
• Peer Pressure and Other Influences
• Relationship Development
• Positive Decision Making
• Health and Hygiene
PEERS
(Peers Exploring, Experiencing, Relating and Socializing)
A peer mentoring program to help participants in three main areas. The participants are mentored individually or in pairs by high school or 1st year college students on a weekly basis. The following areas are addressed:
• Setting Realistic and Obtainable Goals
• Socialization and Communication Skills
• Peer Pressure and Other Influences
STOMP
(Supportive, Therapeutic, Ongoing Mentoring Program)
An intensive mentoring program for at-risk youth. All mentors are professionally trained adults and work with participants for a minimum of one school year.
