An Apple a Day: Managing & Building Your Household
This workshop is designed to reinforce the importance of a routine that helps promote activities for daily living and household management. Skills may range from daily hygiene and chores to having dinner as a family more often and planning regular family meetings. The importance of preventive health maintenance (physicals, eye exams and dentist visits) for the whole family. Time management and scheduled family time will be addressed along with balancing your day-to-day life.
Where has my Sweet Child Gone?: The A, B, C’s of Increasing Positive Behavior
Whether dealing with the terrible two’s, the tween years or adolescence, this workshop will help you deal with many types of difficult behavior. Gain a better understanding of the development and learning styles of children; learn the power of positive reinforcement; and leave with the key to changing behavior in children. Participants will be taught the different components of a behavior modification system and will be given various tools to develop and implement such a system in their own home.
Stop the Insanity: Getting Yourself on Track (Home Management)
The purpose of this workshop is to help individuals who may feel they have lost some control of their lives, to reel things back into place. The goal is to empower the participants through teaching time management skills, personal planning, simple financial literacy and the importance of budgeting. Walk away from this workshop feeling revived, confident and ready to conquer the home again!
GED to PhD: So What’s the Big Deal?
This workshop will cover the myths and realities about higher education. Parents will gain a better understanding of the correlation that connects education to one’s potential future earnings and job opportunities. In addition, the workshop will cover the importance of getting more involved in children’s education, and empowering participants with ways to become more engaged with schools. Participants will also learn how to recognize developmental milestones of children and how to access Early Childhood Intervention Services if needed.
The Art of Negotiating (Conflict Resolution)
This workshop will focus on educating parents on what is conflict making them aware of how they have dealt with conflicts in the past; and how to appropriately address conflicts through negotiation, active listening skills and the steps to conflict resolution. This workshop is appropriate for parents and teachers.
